Offline Era is operated by Maren Mulder in the Netherlands. This policy explains how the Offline Era iOS and Apple Watch apps handle information.
Our privacy approach
Offline Era is designed with privacy at its core. The app does not require an account and does not collect, transmit, sell or share personal data with Offline Era or third parties.
Information stored on your device
The app stores information required for its functionality locally on the user’s device. This may include:
- The selected Offline Era mode
- Selected apps, categories and websites
- Offline session start and end times
- Offline session history
- App settings
- The identifier of a paired NFC tag or Offline Binder
This information is not transmitted to Offline Era and is not stored in an Offline Era cloud database.
Screen Time access
Offline Era uses Apple’s Family Controls and Managed Settings frameworks to pause only the apps, categories and websites selected by the user.
Apple protects these selections using privacy-preserving system controls. Offline Era does not receive the content of the user’s apps, messages, browsing activity, communications or files.
NFC and the Offline Binder
Users may optionally pair an Offline Binder or compatible NFC tag. The app reads and stores the tag identifier locally so that it can recognise the paired tag and use it to start or end an offline moment.
NFC information is not transmitted to Offline Era.
Apple Watch
When the optional Apple Watch companion is used, current session information may be exchanged between the user’s paired Apple devices through Apple Watch Connectivity. This information is not transmitted to Offline Era or stored in an Offline Era cloud database.
Accounts, analytics and advertising
Offline Era does not use:
- User accounts
- Third-party analytics
- Advertising trackers
- Behavioural profiling
- Cloud-based session storage
- Sale of personal information
Data sharing
Offline Era does not sell, rent or share personal data with third parties.
Data removal
App information is stored locally. Users can remove locally stored app data by deleting the Offline Era app from their device.
Children’s privacy
Offline Era does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if the app’s functionality or privacy practices change. The latest version will remain available on this page.
